Report: Real Madrid want Spurs star – and it isn’t who you may think

After Wednesday the 8th of May, there was only one football player on the back pages around the globe, and that man was Lucas Moura.

Tottenham Hotspur were 3-0 down on aggregate against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final second leg, with just 45 minutes to turn things around.

The club looked dead and buried before Moura pulled a sensational second-half hat-trick out of the bag to snatch a spot in the final.

No matter what else the Brazilian does at the club, he will always go down in history at Tottenham for that match alone.

Moura has had a pretty successful first full season in England too, bagging 15 goals in all competitions after signing for just £23m in January 2018 (BBC).

However, the Daily Star now reports that Moura is the latest Spurs player wanted by Spanish giants Real Madrid, following recent speculation around a possible move for Christian Eriksen.

Spurs Web Opinion:

For me, Lucas Moura represents one of the key steps forward from Spurs this season. Until Kane’s injury, Moura was mainly used as a substitute and squad rotation player, with Heung Min Son the first choice winger. This marks how Spurs are attempting to improve the strength of their bench and depth of their squad. Not only this, but Moura brings speed, trickery, quick feet, and much-needed goals to this Spurs side, as well as experience at the highest level with PSG and Brazil. A must-keep for Tottenham this summer.
