Report: Real Madrid willing to listen to offers for player who could be perfect Eriksen replacement

Tottenham Hotspur fans may have seen the Eriksen news coming this week, as the Great Dane revealed he is looking for a change and a step-up this summer (Ekstra Bladet).

While the news may not have come as a surprise, Spurs will still be in a race to find a replacement by the time the new season starts.

Eriksen has been Tottenham’s first choice playmaker for six years now, and has contributed 49 goals and 60 assists in that time, leaving big shoes to fill (Premier League).

The club credited with the most interest in Eriksen is Real Madrid, with some reports even stating that a deal has already been agreed between player and club (Daily Star).

Madrid would also very much fit the bill as a change and a step-up for Eriksen, but Spurs will want hefty compensation for losing their best midfielder.

Marca have now reported that Real are willing to listen to offers for playmaker star Isco, so could we see a player plus cash swap deal on the horizon?

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham should hold firm and let Real Madrid do the chasing for Eriksen. If they are to offer the likes of Isco or Bale in a player swap deal, Tottenham should also be looking for some extra cash. However, Isco looks a fantastic talent, and I would be more than happy with him being Eriksen’s successor.
