Report: Real Sociedad in talks with Tottenham over season-long loan deal

Real Sociedad are in talks with Tottenham to potentially sign winger Bryan Gil on a season-long loan, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.

Gil, who joined Spurs from Sevilla last summer, struggled to work his way into the starting line-up with Antonio Conte often naming the likes of Son and Moura instead.

The 21-year-old Spaniard was allowed to leave on loan during the January transfer window and linked up with Valencia, where he produced a respectable spell on his return to LaLiga.

El Desmarque recently claimed Los Che were interested in bringing Gil back to the Mestalla with the winger’s profile ideal for the style of new manager Gennaro Gattuso.

Gil has since returned to parent club Tottenham to begin his pre-season preparations, although he is now the subject of another rumoured move away from North London.

Konur claims Real Sociedad are in contact with Spurs about taking Gil on loan for the entirety of the upcoming campaign.

Mundo Deportivo previously reported Los Txuri-Urdin were rivalling Valencia for the signing of the Spain youth international, while transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also named Marseille as suitors.

It does seem likely that Gil will be moving out on loan from Spurs again and to another club in his native Spain.

While it will be good for him to continue receiving more minutes, it can be argued that a move to a Premier League side would be a better option as it will allow him to familiarise himself more with the league.
