Report: Relegated club holding out for £30million to sell rumoured Spurs target

The Sun reports that Watford will not let rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Ismaila Sarr leave the club this summer unless they receive an offer of around £30million.

The 22-year-old has had an encouraging first season in the Premier League after his big-money move from Rennes last summer.

Although it took a while for Sarr to establish himself as a regular in the Hornets lineup, he proved to be their main attacking threat in the second half of the season with his pace and directness.

The Sunday Mirror (9/8; page 65) claimed that Spurs were looking to snap up the wide man after Watford’s relegation and faced competition from both Liverpool and Manchester United for the winger’s signature.

However, The Sun now claim that Crystal Palace are the only club to make a firm offer for the wide man so far.

They report that Roy Hodgson is keen to bring the Senegal international to Selhurst Park to replace Zaha, who could be on his way out of the club this summer.

It is asserted that Watford have told the Eagles to cough up £30m if they want to land Sarr.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Palace are ready to pay around £30m for Sarr, that likely means that they expect Zaha to leave this summer. It does not look like any of the other so-called ‘big six’ are after the Ivorian this summer and his value seems to be down on the back of an inconsistent campaign. So, there could be some value for money in the Zaha deal this summer, which was not the case in the past given the inflated amount Palace were demanding for him.
