Report reveals asking price Rennes will demand for Spurs-linked forward

CalcioMercato have revealed that Rennes want €40m (£34.3m) for rumoured Tottenham target Martin Terrier this summer.

According to reports, Antonio Conte wishes to sign a versatile forward, who can play as a number nine as well as out wide (Telegraph).

Terrier, who has had a breakthrough season in Ligue 1, is someone who would fit the bill as he has featured across the front three for Rennes this season, managing 21 goals and seven assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Foot Mercato revealed last week that Spurs are ‘very fond’ of the 25-year-old and have already sent a ‘proposal’ to sign him this summer.

The report added that Rennes will have a decision to make regarding the forward, who is contracted to the club until 2025.

However, CaclioMercato have now claimed that the Ligue 1 club have no intention of letting Terrier leave. It is said that they would only cash in on the striker if they receive an offer of around €40m (£34.3m) for him this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do think Terrier fits the profile of the forward Spurs are likely to be after this summer. However, one would expect Conte to demand a player of a much higher calibre. The Italian will preferably want someone with Premier League experience like Gabriel Jesus, who can hit the ground running.
