Report: Report provides the latest on Spurs’ interest in Julian Nagelsmann

The Evening Standard have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now on alert following news that Bayern Munich are to sack their current manager Julian Naglesmann.

Reports emanating from Germany (Bild) suggest that Naglesmann’s tenure as Bayern head coach is now over following the reigning Bundesliga Champions’ 2-1 loss at Bayer Leverkusen – a result which saw Borussia Dortmund leapfrog the Bavarians at the summit of the table.

It has emerged over the last twelve hours that Thomas Tuchel is expected to take over at the Allianz Arena with immediate effect (Fabrizio Romano).

The Evening Standard have now claimed that Tuchel’s impending move to Bayern is a blow for Spurs since the former Chelsea boss was on the North London club’s wishlist to replace Conte.

However, it is explained that the Lilywhites could now consider making a move for Naglesmann as a potential successor to Antonio Conte.

The publication states that the 35-year-old was one of the candidates shortlisted to replace Jose Mourinho in N17 back in 2021 before he took over at Bayern, and he has now emerged as a contender once again for the Spurs job.

Naglesmann would tick a lot of boxes for Spurs as he would be willing to build a medium to long-term project and his teams play progressive, attacking football.

I suspect the 35-year-old would have immediately shot up to the top of Tottenham’s wishlist as soon as the news of his sacking emerged.
