Report: Report reveals the price which club are demanding for 24-year-old Spurs target

Tottenham Hotspur still remain in the hunt for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, according to a report from Turkey.

Cakir’s impressive displays have reportedly seen him attract the attention of Tottenham but the Lilywhites are said to be facing competition for the 24-year-old from the likes of Liverpool, Lazio, Monaco, Brighton and Newcastle (Fotospor).

Karadeniz Gazete claimed last month that Tottenham have reportedly already had an offer of £18million turned down by Trabzonspor for the Turkish international, while Fotomac (via Sport Witness) revealed earlier this week that the North Londoners were still determined to get their man.

A report by Fanatik (as relayed by Sport Witness) has now provided an update on Tottenham’s chase of landing the shot-stopper by suggesting that Jose Mourinho is keen on signing a goalkeeper this summer and that Cakir is at the top of the club’s shopping list.

The report reveals that Trabzonspor want a fee in the region of €30 million for Cakir and they will allow him to leave if their asking price is met.

While Tottenham are said to be the frontrunners for Cakir, the likes of Benfica, Sevilla, Atalanta and Lyon are also mentioned as potential suitors.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be extremely surprised if we spent any money at all on a goalkeeper in the summer given the limited funds we have to work with. I would expect us to get a third choice to replace Michel Vorm and focus on signing a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris next summer.
