Report: Representatives of PSG forward have offered him to Tottenham

According to Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi has been offered to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the January transfer window.

Icardi has been a bit-part player under Mauricio Pocehttino this season, having scored three goals from 12 Ligue 1 appearances, the majority of which have come from the bench (Transfermarkt.com).

Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) reported back in October that Tottenham were admirers of the Argentina international.

Foot Mercato have now stated that Spurs are one of the potential destinations for Icardi in January. The report reveals that PSG want to move on up to seven fringe players, with the striker being one of those on the list.

It is alleged that Icardi is also keen to leave Paris in search of regular first-team football. The player’s representatives have allegedly offered him to Spurs, Newcastle, Barcelona and Juventus.  Finally, the report states that the Serie A is Icardi’s most plausible destination.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe Spurs are guaranteed to be in the market for another centre-forward in January, particularly following Conte’s admission that he cannot afford to rest Kane right now due to the make-up of the squad. Icardi could be a very good fit and will be relatively inexpensive owing to his recent struggles.
