Report reveals £29.7m update on Gleison Bremer – Potential blow to any Spurs hopes

Inter Milan are closing in on the signing of Torino defender Gleison Bremer with the Serie A side hopeful of acquiring the Tottenham-linked player at a lower fee, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

It is claimed the Nerazzurri are hoping to complete a deal for the Brazilian within the next week and are working towards lowering Torino’s valuation to around €35 million (£29.7m), including add-ons.

The reported drop in the Granata’s estimation comes after the club’s president Urbano Cairo insisted Bremer is worth more than €70 million (£59.5m) following his agreement to cash in on the 25-year-old this summer (La7 12/07/22 via Football Italia).

Bremer was of interest to a host of Premier League clubs including Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea, who had all taken note of his impressive displays last season (90min).

It was reported in June that Spurs were going head to head with Inter Milan for Bremer this summer (SportMediaset – 27/06/22 via SportWitness).

His place at the heart of Torino’s defence saw him named the Serie A Defender of the Year despite his side finishing in 10th place (Football Italia).

Inter appear to be picking up a snip at that price considering Bremer was named the best defender in Serie A last season.

We do not know for sure just how interested Spurs were but they need to refocus and look at some other names they can bring in this summer or even next year if not possible.
