Report reveals Antonio Conte’s stance on permanent Dejan Kulusevski deal

The Evening Standard have claimed that Antonio Conte already considers Dejan Kulusesvski as a permanent member of the Tottenham squad despite the Swede being on loan.

Kulusevski has hit the ground running since his move from Juventus on transfer deadline day and has demonstrated why he was so highly thought of during his time at Parma.

The 21-year-old has nine-goal contributions to his name in just 12 Premier League appearances so far (Transfermakrt) and has added another dimension to Tottenham’s attack alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

The Daily Mail revealed earlier this month that Spurs paid a loan fee of £8m to sign Kulusevski in January and are expected to trigger the £25m option to buy him permanently this summer.

It was explained that Spurs also have the option of putting off the winger’s purchase until the summer of 2023 but they would have to pay £30m for him if they delay.

The Evening Standard have now backed up The Mail’s claim, stating that Spurs will take up the purchase option this summer. In fact, they claim that Conte already considered Kulusevski a permanent member of his squad.

Even if Kulusevski has a dip in form from now until the end of the season, there is no doubt that Spurs will take up the option to sign him permanently.

The Swede has shown enough promise to suggest that he could be a top player for us in the years to come and the fact that he is only 21 years of age means that he has a huge ceiling.
