Report reveals assurances Pochettino is seeking to take over at Man Utd

The Daily Mail have claimed that Manchester United need to convince Mauricio Pochettino that he is their first choice to take over from interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Pochettino, who was sacked by Tottenham in 2019, was heavily linked with a return to the North London club last summer before the club appointed Nuno Espirito Santo (Evening Standard).

Alan Brazil claimed last week that his sources at Spurs told him Pochettino is keen to return to the Lilywhites (talkSPORT).

However, over recent weeks, the 50-year-old has also been mentioned as a leading candidate for the Man Utd job (ESPN).

The Daily Mail have now claimed that the former Spurs boss’ time at Paris Saint-Germain is set to come to an end, with owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi ready to sack him following the Ligue 1 giants’ elimination from the Champions League.

However, the report claims that Pochettino wants assurances he is at the top of United’s wishlist before agreeing on a move to Old Trafford.

It is asserted that the Red Devils would have to convince Pochettino that he is the man they want more than any other candidate.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that the Man Utd hierarchy have had eyes on Pochettino for a long time and I expect them to bring him in the summer as the Argentine seems keen on a return to English football.

That would not be good news for Spurs and the rest of the Premier League as I believe that Pochettino will quickly turn United into a force again.
