Report reveals Bayern Munich are prepared dig deeper in their bid to sign Harry Kane

According to French news outlet L’Equipe, Bayern Munich are willing to bid as high as €100m (£85m) to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Earlier this week, Bayern launched their second offer for Kane worth €80m (£68m) plus add-ons but it was widely reported that it was not going to be enough to convince Tottenham to part ways with their talisman (Fabrizio Romano – CaughtOffside).

In fact, The Daily Mail even suggested on Monday that it would take an offer of £120m for Spurs to even consider selling the England captain.

The publication suggested that Bayern were already at their upper limit and were not willing to offer much more for the striker, given that he has just one year left on his contract.

Bayern Munich prepared to pay £85m for Kane

However, if L’Equipe’s latest update is to be believed, Bayern are not prepared to give up on their pursuit of the Tottenham man.

The Bundesliga club have reportedly decided that it will be ‘Kane or nothing’ this summer, with Thomas Tuchel said to have his heart set on the striker leading the line for his side next season as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

The report states that Bayern will now make a third offer worth around €90m to €95m (£76.6m-£80.8m) for the 29-year-old.

It is suggested that the Bavarians are even willing to break the €100m (£85m) barrier to sign Kane this summer, with the reigning German champions said to be prepared to move ‘heaven and earth’ to convince Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to sell the centre-forward.

If Bayern do bid £85m, I believe that the offer would be given serious consideration by Levy and the Spurs board, particularly if Kane makes it clear that he is not going to sign a new contract. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic changes once Kane has a conversation with Ange Postecoglou about his future at Tottenham.
