Report reveals changes Conte has made to foster togetherness at Spurs

The Athletic have revealed that Antonio Conte has prioritised fostering a sense of togetherness among the Tottenham squad in his first week at the club.

The Spurs squad seemed to be lacking togetherness in the final weeks of Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign, with the Portuguese coach’s decision to use a two-tier squad for the Europa Conference League and Premier League reportedly not going down well with the players.

The Athletic have claimed that Conte is keen on fostering a team spirit at Tottenham and has made a number of changes to help achieve that.

The Italian has asked the whole group to eat lunch together at midday, explaining to the squad that this is non-negotiable.

It is said that team meetings were a rarity under Nuno but Conte sees them as vital for fostering unity and giving clarity to the players on what the team is trying to achieve.

There is also allegedly a greater focus on video analysis sessions, with Conte’s brother, Gianluca said to have impressed the squad with his energy and enthusiasm.

One of the hallmarks of our squad under Pochettino was the togetherness and camaraderie among the group.

That was evidently lost under Mourinho as evidenced by Hugo Lloris’ infamous interview after the loss against Dinamo Zagreb last season when he accused some players of not giving their all when they are not playing.

Hopefully, under the new regime, the squad will once again become as united as it was a few years ago.
