Report reveals clause Tottenham have added into Ivan Perisic’s contract

The Times have revealed that Tottenham have the option of extending Ivan Perisic’s two-year contract by an additional year.

Perisic looks set to be Spurs’ first capture of the summer, with the Croat reportedly ready to pen a two-year deal with the North London club after completing his medical at Hotspur Way on Monday (Dan Kilpatrick).

The Inter Milan star, who scored ten goals and provided nine assists from wing-back over the course of the 2021/22 season (TransferMarkt), is expected to add more cutting edge to Tottenham’s left side.

According to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, Conte believes that the former Bayern Munich man will help improve the mentality of the Tottenham squad and also expects the experienced wide-man to mentor Ryan Sessegnon.

The Times have now revealed that Perisic’s two-year contract at Spurs is expected to be worth £100,000 a week plus bonuses.

In addition, the Lilywhites are said to have included an option to extend the Croat’s contract by an additional 12 months.

Spurs Web Opinion

The reason Spurs were probably hesitant to hand Perisic a three-year contract is due to the Croat’s age. However, the Inter star is one of the fittest players going at the moment and I fully expect him to prove his worth and for the club to trigger the contract extension.
