The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed Tottenham would want Nottingham Forest to cover Sergio Reguilon’s entire salary if a loan move to the City Ground does materialise for the Spaniard.
With Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndebele completing loan switches to Villarreal and Napoli respectively over the past couple of weeks, Tottenham’s focus is now on offloading Reguilon and Harry Winks before the window shuts.
It was reported last week that Reguilon could be offered to Atalanta as part of Tottenham’s pursuit of Rusal Malinovskyi (Bergamo Corriere).
The Daily Mail reported earlier today that Forest were also exploring a loan move for Reguilon.
This has now been backed up by David Ornsiten, who claims Steve Cooper’s side have held talks with Spurs over recent weeks regarding a move for the former Real Madrid man.
Ornstein adds that while it is unclear whether a loan move will materialise, Tottenham would want the newly promoted club to cover Reguilon’s entire wages this season if it does.

Given that there is only a little over a week left in the transfer window, Tottenham might not have a choice but to find loan moves for Reguilon and Winks rather than permanent ones.
Perhaps, the club would enter a similar clause in the loan deal as they did with Lo Celso’s move, which would allow them to recall the players and sell them in January in case of suitable offers.
