Report reveals Conte’s plans for Bryan Gil over Spurs pre-season period

Antonio Conte is planning to give Bryan Gil a chance to impress during Tottenham’s pre-season tour of South Korea, according to the Evening Standard.

The young winger is likely to be included in the Spurs squad for their fixtures in Asia, despite Conte having reservations about his ability to carve out a career in the Premier League.

Gil returned to pre-season training at Hotspur Way alongside the club’s other non-international players on Monday after his loan spell with Valencia came to an end.

The 21-year-old, who joined Spurs from Sevilla last summer, returned to his native Spain in the second half of last season after struggling to force his way into Conte’s starting line-up.

On briefly leaving North London, Conte insisted Gil is a talented asset but said he needed his players to be able to cope with the physical demands of English football (Football.London).

Gil himself explained to Spanish publication AS that he struggled to adapt to the Premier League’s physicality and he has sought to change his habits to improve his conditioning.

Everyone knows Gil had a pretty tough start to his Spurs career and his loan away in the second half of the season showed that.

He has also shown some very bright moments so he is clearly a talented player and hopefully he is able to show Conte what he is really about now that he has been given the chance to impress.
