Report reveals details as new offer could arrive ‘soon’ for Zaniolo from Spurs

Italian publication Quotidiano Nazionale have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could be about to launch a new offer for AS Roma winger Nicolo Zaniolo.

CalcioMercato.it revealed last Thursday that Spurs’ opening bid of £25m plus Joe Rodon for the winger was turned down by Roma.

It was reported by CalcioMercatoWeb this week that Tottenham were open to offering Giovani Lo Celso to the Giallorossi as a makeweight in a deal for the 23-year-old.

Quotidiano Nazionale have now stated that the race for Zaniolo’s signature is between Juventus and Spurs.

The report claims that while Juve seemed like the Roma star’s most likely destination until a few weeks ago, Massimiliano Allegri’s side are now concentrating their efforts on selling their fringe players.

It is alleged that, as things stand, it is ‘not certain’ that the Bianconeri would reignite their interest in Zaniolo.

Quotidiano Nazionale add that despite Tottenham seeing their opening offer for the winger turned down by Roma, Antonio Conte is pushing the North London club’s hierarchy to make an improved offer.

It is asserted that such an offer could soon be forthcoming from the Premier League club.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on the reports over the last few days, it appears as if Spurs have now become the frontrunners for Zaniolo’s signature.

While we should be able to financially outmuscle Juve, the only question is if the 23-year-old might prefer to remain in the Serie A rather than risking a new adventure in the Premier League.
