Report reveals details as PSG make move for Tanguy Ndombele on loan from Spurs

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Tanguy Ndombele on loan from Tottenham for the rest of the season, according to The Athletic.

The 25-year-old has slipped down the pecking order at Tottenham and has been omitted from the club’s last two squads to face Chelsea and Leicester respectively.

Ndombele’s turbulent Spurs career was magnified in the FA Cup third-round win over Morecambe, when he was booed off by fans for labouring on his exit while being substituted (Mirror).

Spurs are said to be actively looking for ways to offload Ndombele this month while trying to recoup the £54 million fee paid to Lyon in 2019 (Sky Sports), with a host of European clubs keeping tabs on the situation (Fichajes).

However, an exit appears to be moving closer for Ndombele, with The Athletic claiming French giants PSG planning to make a loan move for him before the transfer deadline with an option to buy.

The report states Mauricio Pochettino, who initially signed the Frenchman for Spurs, is still a fan of him and wants to bring him to the Parc des Princes this month.

PSG are keen to hand Ndombele a lifeline to get what is a stuttering career back on track, with summer signing Georginio Wijnaldum failing to live up to expectations so far.

Fabrizio Romano has reinforced this information, claiming PSG may look to add an option to buy and are currently discussing salary costs.

This could be a good move for both parties if some of Ndombele’s wages are taken on by PSG. If that is the case, then it would take a player who isn’t playing and earns a lot off the books, which would save Spurs a decent amount of money further down the line.
