Report reveals details as Spurs have promised Conte he will be backed this summer

The Times have revealed that Antonio Conte wants to be convinced of Tottenham’s ambition before committing his future to the club.

Conte’s future at Spurs has been thrown into doubt over the last few days, with Le Parisian reporting recently that the Italian is one of the names on Paris Saint-Germain’s shortlists to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

The report further claimed that the Italian is keen on taking over at the Ligue 1 giants.

Meanwhile, GFFN have claimed that Daniel Levy has been in contact with Pochettino over recent months, with the Spurs chairman said to be trying to convince the Argentine to return to North London.

The Times have now claimed that Conte could indeed walk away from Tottenham if the club do not match his ambitions when it comes to rebuilding the squad.

However, the report explains that the Spurs hierarchy have already told the 52-year-old he will be backed in this summer’s transfer window. The former Inter Milan boss also ‘wants to be sure about Tottenham’s vision’ to close the gap with the top Premier League teams.

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like Conte might be using PSG’s interest to put pressure on the Spurs board to back him in the transfer window. I have no doubts that the club will back the Italian in this summer’s transfer window but it will be difficult to attract the kind of players that the 52-year-old wants unless we get back into the Champions League.
