Report reveals details on potential Premier League Drive to Survive type series

The Athletic have revealed that the Premier League have been approached by the film company behind Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive, over making a behind-the-scenes docuseries about the top flight in England.

Behind-the-scenes series, which documented life at various clubs, have become quite popular over recent years, with Amazon’s All or Nothing covering the likes of Spurs, Manchester City and most recently Arsenal.

Amazon’s series about Leeds United, Take Us Home, as well as Netflix’s Sunderland Till I Die, have also turned out to be quite popular.

The Athletic have now revealed that the Premier League have been approached about exploring the possibility of making a series about the competition, similar to Drive to Survive.

The report explains that the process is still in its infancy and no serious discussions have been had with any of the 20 Premier League clubs as of yet.

The production company that the Premier League is in talks with, Box To Box Films, which is run by producers James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin, also produced the Make Us Dream documentary about former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not sure if fans of the Premier League will be too enthusiastic about this idea but this is not intended for them. The Premier League probably see this as a means to attract new fans to the sport, which is understandable, given the success of Drive To Survive.
