Report reveals further details about potential new Troy Parrott contract

Football Insider reported a few days ago that Tottenham had begun negotiations with Troy Parrott over a new contract.

Now the same publication reports that the club will offer a substantial pay hike and a three-year contract extension to the talented striker.

Great things are expected from Parrott both in his home nation of Ireland as well as at Tottenham.

The youngster has quite a sensational goal record at youth football and has certainly not looked out of place when given the chance to be part of the first team at Spurs.

The 17-year-old made his senior international debut for the Republic of Ireland in their 3-1 friendly win over New Zealand last week and manager Mick McCarthy was left impressed by the youngster’s showing (RTE).

It thus comes as no surprise that Spurs have felt the need to tie him down to a new deal and reward him for the progress he has made recently.

Spurs Web Opinion

While there is a lot of hype around Parrott, it is important that we as fans are patient with him and don’t expect him to produce the goods as soon as he gets his chances. Some fans will remember for example that Harry Kane took a while to get accustomed to the first team and often didn’t look like he had enough in his locker for a few years before finally delivering.
