Report reveals how Haaland’s future could impact Tottenham’s pursuit of 24-year-old

According to Bild, Borussia Dortmund could make a move for rumoured Tottenham target Sasa Kalajdzic this summer if they lose Erling Haaland.

Kalajdzic enjoyed a prolific 2020/21 season for Stuttgart, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt) but the centre-forward has missed the majority of the current campaign through injury.

The Austrian international was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar during last summer’s transfer window (Eurosport) and reports have backed the North Londoners to reignite their interest in the 24-yea-old this summer (Kicker).

Bild have now revealed that Dortmund could swoop for the Stuttgart star, having identified him as a replacement for Haaland, who is expected to leave Signal Iduna Park this summer.

The report claims that Stuttgart are ready to cash in on Kalajdzic as the striker’s current deal runs out in 2023 and he has refused to sign a new contract.

It is asserted that Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side will demand a fee of around €20m (£17m) for their star striker this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Some Spurs fans might turn their noses up at Kalajdzic but I believe he is the sort of player we would have to aim for as a backup to Kane. Top strikers are not going to be willing to play a second fiddle to the England captain.

Kalajdzic would give Conte an option to go more direct if we are struggling to break down a low block. The fact that the Austrian is set to be available on the cheap could make him a lucrative option for the Lilywhites.
