Report reveals how Kane’s teammates reacted to striker’s statement

The statement Harry Kane released on Friday has baffled the striker’s Tottenham teammates, as well as the club’s staff, The Telegraph have revealed.

Kane did not report to Hotspur Way as he was reportedly expected to on Monday in an alleged attempt to force through a move to Manchester City.

However, reports indicate that Tottenham have not been moved by the striker’s antics and maintain they have no intention of selling him.

Pep Guardiola even admitted in his press conference on Friday that while City are interested in signing Kane, a transfer will not be possible if Spurs are not willing to negotiate.

Kane then decided to break his silence on Friday evening as he took to social media to insist he had never refused to train and that he was set to return to Hotspur Way today as planned.

Going by the reaction on social media, some Spurs fans are certainly confused by the England captain’s statement and are wondering why it has taken so long for him to deliver it.

If The Telegraph are to be believed, the players and the staff at Spurs are just as baffled by the 28-year-old’s words.

Kane has been poorly advised through this entire process. It is evident that the striker tried to force Tottenham to the negotiating table by going on the strike

However, Levy stood firm knowing that the 28-year-old will not have anywhere else to go. Now that Kane realises that he has no power in the matter, the message was clearly aimed at damage control.
