Report reveals how much Ajax are expected to bid for Bergwijn in improved offer

Fichajes journalist Ekrem Konur has claimed that Ajax are set to launch a fresh approach for Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn.

Tottenham are reportedly looking to cash in on Bergwijn before the end of the month, with several clubs thought to be showing interest in the wide-man.

According to De Telegraaf (via Sport Witness), Ajax have expressed interest in bringing the winger back to the Eredivisie and are in talks with the North London club regarding a deal.

A £15m opening bid from the Dutch club is alleged to have already been turned down by Spurs.

90 min reported this week that Newcastle have also expressed an interest in Bergwijn, with the Magpies looking to sign the Spurs man on loan until the end of the season.

If Konur’s latest update is to be believed, it looks as though Ajax are now set to make a second offer for the Netherlands international.

The journalist has said that the club are now set to raise their bid to £20m in the hope of snapping up the Tottenham man.

One would assume Ajax would not return with a second offer had they not received encouragement from Spurs. So, it does seem like the North London club want to cash in on the 24-year-old. £20m might be enough to clinch the deal.
