Report reveals how much Oliver Skipp is likely to earn from new contract

Oliver Skipp is on the verge of signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur, The Daily Mail have revealed.

Skipp has enjoyed a breakthrough year at Tottenham since returning from his loan spell at Norwich.

The 21-year-old has been one of the Lilywhites’ most consistent performers this campaign, both under Antonio Conte and his predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo.

The youngster has been out of action with a pelvic injury since he played for Spurs in the 2-0 Premier League defeat at Chelsea on 23 January and he is expected to return to first-team training by the middle of this month (Football.London).

The Mail claimed that Skipp is about to be rewarded for his displays this season with a new long-term deal on the cards.

The England Under-21 international is currently contracted to the club until the summer of 2024 but it is revealed that he is now on the verge of extending his deal further on improved terms.

The report reveals that the midfielder will be handed a pay hike, with the deal expected to be worth around £35,000 per week.

Spurs Web Opinion

£35,000 per week might seem a little low for a player who is a regular starter for us but we know the way Spurs operate with young players is to give them regular pay hikes based on performances. If Skipp continues developing the way he has over the next 12 months, I would not be surprised if his salary is doubled within the next year or two.
