Report reveals how much Real Madrid want for Asensio after he was allegedly offered to Spurs

According to Spanish outlet Marca, both Arsenal and Newcastle United have been told what they must pay to sign Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, who has previously been linked with Tottenham.

Asensio made 31 La Liga appearances for Madrid last season, scoring ten goals in their charge to the title (TransferMarkt).

However, with the midfielder entering the final year of his contract at the Bernabeu, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are reportedly unwilling to give the 26-year-old the wage he desires in order to sign a new contract with the club (Mirror).

This has opened the door for an exit this summer, with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle said to be keen on the winger, and Spurs also previously cited as a potential suitor (Marca).

Asensio was allegedly on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the January transfer window (Daily Express), with The Daily Mirror claiming he was offered to the Lilywhites.

Marca claim that the interested parties have been told they must pay a fee of £34 million if they are looking to land the Spanish international.

It was previously said that Spurs’ strong links to Asensio’s new agent Jorge Mendes could put the Lilywhites in good stead if they decide to pursue a deal for the player (Marca).

Spurs Web Opinion

Asensio is a very talented player with a thunderous left foot and he would certainly add depth to the Spurs attack. However, with Dejan Kulusevski settling into Antonio Conte’s system so seamlessly following his arrival in January, Asensio may not fancy a switch to N17.
