According to Calciomercato, AS Roma value rumoured Tottenham target Jordan Veretout at €25m-€30m (£20.8m-£25m).

Veretout has been a consistent performer in the middle of the park for Roma since his move to the Stadio Olimpico in the summer of 2019, initially on a loan deal before sealing a permanent move a year later.

The print edition of Tuttosport (as relayed by Sport Witness) reported earlier this week that the midfielder is on Tottenham’s radar and Roma would be willing to sell him in order to fund moves for their targets.

This has now been backed up by CalcioMercato, who suggest that Roma can only afford to sign players on loan this month unless they sell players.

The Giallorossi are thought to be willing to cash in on Veretout as former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho does not see the Frenchman as an automatic starter when everyone is fit.

The report claims that Antonio Conte wants to bring the 28-year-old to North London and the midfielder’s departure from the Italian capital is a ‘concrete possibility’.

However, it is explained that Veretout is more likely to depart in the summer rather than during this transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not convinced that Veretout would be an upgrade on the midfield options that Antonio Conte has at his disposal at Spurs. Signing a number eight like Franck Kessie is arguably a bigger priority for the North Londoners, given that Ndombele seems likely to depart (Guardian).
