Report reveals how much Spurs earned from Premier League money in 2021-22 season

Tottenham earned the third highest amount of prize money in the Premier League during the 2021-22 campaign with £155.1 million, according to the Mail on Sunday (print edition — 22/05/22).

Spurs, under the guidance of Antonio Conte, clawed back what was a frustrating opening part of the campaign to end the season in the Champions League places.

The top four race with Arsenal went down to the final day, but Spurs secured the final spot by two points with a thumping 5-0 win over Norwich.

Tottenham’s strong end to the campaign has now left them in a healthy financial position, with the Mail on Sunday revealing the N17-based side managed to rake in the third highest value in the division with over £155 million.

On top of the equal £79 million share of the TV pot and £5.6 million fee from the Premier League’s commercial share, Spurs added another £45.1 million as a merit payment for finishing fourth in the table.

The club also earned £25.4 million in facility fees after having their games broadcast on 27 occasions, which was the joint-third most in the division.

Tottenham’s value was just £800,000 more than the earnings of rivals Arsenal, but interestingly £200,000 ahead of that collected by third-placed Chelsea.

Clubs in the Premier League do benefit from collecting quite a hefty amount of prize money every season, but it will be more for Spurs on this occasion.

Finishing in the Champions League place will mean the club has another big source of income next season which should put the club in a very healthy position going forward.
