Report reveals how much Spurs may have to pay for Gedson Fernandes loan

It has been reported this week that Tottenham are now close to completing their first signing of the Jose Mourinho era in North London.

Sky Sports report that the Benfica midfielder, Gedson Fernandes, is now close to signing for Spurs on an initial 18-month loan period, running out in the summer of 2021.

The report states that the 21-year-old midfield man will fly to London in the next week to get the deal finalised ahead of his move to Spurs.

This is said to be a reaction to the long-term injury to Moussa Sissoko, who was forced to undergo surgery earlier this week on his knee.

O Jogo have now reported that a move to Spurs could be completed in the next few hours, rather than days, stating that the deal will include a purchase option of up to €50m.

The loan period itself will also come with a reported fee of €4.5m for the 18-months.
