Report reveals how much Spurs paid for 17-year-old Kion Etete

Tottenham Hotspur may not have signed a senior player in the last 16 months, but they have now snapped up a 17-year-old starlet for their academy.

HITC reported that Kion Etete joined Tottenham for a brief trial period back in March 2019, when he bagged a brace in a 5-3 win over West Ham United.

This was obviously enough to make a big impression on those in charge of talent recruitment at Spurs, as Etete was back at the club last week.

Tottenham announced that Etete would be part of their squad for an U19 tournament, adding fuel to the rumours that he may sign a full contract.

And that is exactly what has happened now, as Notts County revealed yesterday that Etete had signed a contract with the Premier League side, however, the fee that Spurs paid was undisclosed.

The Nottingham Post now claims that Spurs paid around £200,000 for the teenager, but could he push for a place in the first team in the next couple of years?
