Report reveals how much West Ham want for Spurs-linked Tomas Soucek

According to The Daily Express, West Ham United want £40m for Tomas Soucek, amidst Tottenham’s interest in the midfielder.

Soucek has been a key player for the Hammers since arriving from Slavia Prague two years ago.

It was previously reported that Antonio Conte wants to sign two new midfielders this summer (Telegraph), with Alasdair Gold revealing that the West Ham man is one of the names on the club’s radar (Football.London).

This has now been backed up by The Express, who claim that Conte is a fan of the 27-year-old and has identified him as the man to bolster the Spurs midfield.

The report reveals that Soucek, who has two years left to run on his contract, is currently in talks with West Ham after expressing his desire for an improved deal.

The Express add that Spurs face competition from Juventus for the Czech Republic international, who is valued by David Moyes’ side at £40m.

West Ham would not want to let Soucek leave, and so this might be a case of the player’s representatives feeding the speculation to the press to strengthen their negotiating position for a new contact.

Even if the 27-year-old does not agree on a new deal, the Hammers will not want to sell him to Spurs and would probably even accept a lower fee from another club.
