Report reveals how things have been going for Troy Parrott on loan this week

Lancs Live have said that on-loan Tottenham striker Troy Parrott put in his worst performance of the season on Tuesday against Burnley.

Parrott seemed to come of age during his loan spell at MK Dons last season but the striker has not found the step up to the Championship to be straightforward.

Unlike another on-loan Spurs striker, Dane Scarlett, who has been on fire in front of goal for Portsmouth, the Republic of Ireland international has found goals hard to come by, finding the back of the net just once in 11 games across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

However, Ryan Lowe has continued to show faith in the 20-year-old, who was handed another start against Burnley on Tuesday. The game at the Deepdale Stadium ended 1-1, with both goals coming in the first 15 minutes.

After a disappointing outing, Parrott was hooked off in the 72nd minute and replaced by midfielder Alan Browne.

Lancs Live gave the on-loan Spurs man a rating of 4/10 for his performance and wrote about his display: “Kept running up there but just couldn’t get into the game. His poorest outing so far but the service to him and Riis was pretty much non-existent.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Parrott keeps starting every game despite his lack of goals, suggests that he is playing well and offering enough of an attacking threat.

At MK Dons last season, the 20-year-old’s ability to create from the number ten role seemed to be his best asset rather than goalscoring. It appears that might be the case again at Preston so far this season.
