Report reveals Jose Mourinho’s opinion on QPR forward Eberechi Eze amidst Spurs links

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho is ‘thought to be an admirer’ of Eberechi Eze and is willing to bring the QPR star to Spurs this summer.

Eze has been constantly linked with a move to North London over the past year as Spurs were said to be keen on the QPR man under Mauricio Pochettino. However, his sacking was thought to have ended Spurs’ pursuit for the QPR youngster in January (The Sun).

However, the Daily Mail reveal that Mourinho is also a fan of QPR star and is willing to continue previous interest from predecessor Pochettino.

The report also acknowledges that several other clubs are interested in signing Eze, including Newcastle United and West Ham.

Football London also recently reported that Tottenham have scouted Eze and have good links with both QPR and the player’s agent.

Spurs’ relationship with QPR could also help to push the deal over the line after loaning them both Luke Amos and Jack Clarke this campaign.

Due to his impressive 2019/20 campaign, QPR have valued Eberechi Eze at around £20 million, as reported by The Sun.

The 21-year-old has been influential for QPR this season after netting 12 goals and eight assists (Transfermarkt).

Spurs are going to have the restricted funds this summer. Therefore, signing Eze would be a quality move after Christian Eriksen’s departure in January. However, Spurs are already fairly packed in his position. He would struggle to get ahead of Dele, Lo Celso, and Lamela. However, Spurs missed out on the signing of James Maddison when he was in the Championship and Eze could have the same impact over the coming years.
