Report reveals Juventus have cut price for Spurs-linked Weston McKennie

90 min have claimed that Juventus are willing to cash in on Weston McKennie amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur for the midfielder.

Reports over the past couple of weeks have indicated that Spurs are on the lookout for a creative midfielder this summer (Evening Standard).

Leicester pair James Maddison (GiveMeSport) and Youri Tielemans (GiveMeSport) have been mooted as potential targets for the North London club while there has also been plenty of speculation linking Antonio Conte’s side with a move for AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo (TuttoSport) and Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta (L’Equipe).

90 min have now claimed another option on Spurs’ radar is McKennie, who found himself struggling for a regular run of starts under Massimiliano Allegri last season.

The report asserts that Juventus would be willing to sell the 23-year-old if they receive an offer of €30m (£25.1m) for him this window.

It is alleged that the Old Lady are keen on signing Jorginho from Chelsea and that selling McKennie would potentially free up funds to snap up the Italy international.

However, 90 min add that while Tottenham were considering an offer for the USA international earlier this summer, their interest in the Juve star has now ‘cooled’.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have been quite surprised that Spurs have not made a move for McKennie this window, given that both Conte and Paratici are fans of the 23-year-old and he looks to be surplus to requirements at Juventus.

That suggests to me that the Tottenham hierarchy have their eye on another option, with all signs at the moment pointing to Zaniolo being that man.
