Report reveals Lyon’s asking price for Spurs and Arsenal-linked Lucas Paqueta

According to MediaFootMarseille, Lyon want a fee of over €50m (£42.5m) for rumoured Tottenham target Lucas Paqueta this summer.

Tottenham have already made six new signings this summer and reports indicate that the North London club are still on the lookout for a creative midfielder and another central defender (Evening Standard).

Paqueta, who scored 11 goals and provided seven assists in 2021/22 (Transfermarkt), is said to be one of the names on Antonio Conte’s radar (Football.London).

L’Equipe reported earlier this month that the 24-year-old has expressed a desire to leave Lyon this summer and the French club would be willing to sell him if they receive a suitable offer.

Media Foot subsequently claimed last week that Arsenal are keen on snapping up the Brazilian and have stepped up their efforts to land the player.

MediaFootMarseille have now revealed the Gunners are leading the race for Paqueta, who is also said to be on the radar of other Premier League sides.

It is explained, however, that Mikel Arteta’s men are yet to submit an offer for the attacking midfielder.

The report adds that Newcastle had an offer of €40m (£34m) for Paqueta turned down by Lyon in January and that the Ligue 1 club now want in excess of €50m (£42.5m) for the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know based on the way Paratici operates that Paqueta is likely to be one of many attacking midfielders Spurs are currently exploring.

Although we have not been linked with Weston McKennie over recent months, I have a feeling that we might see Tottenham go back in for the Juve star before the window slams shut.
