Report reveals major Antonio Nusa development after Spurs’ failed pursuit

Football Insider have claimed that Antonio Nusa has now decided that he will leave Club Brugge at the end of the season after his failed moves to Tottenham and Brentford in January.

Heading into the final week of the January transfer window, Nusa seemed Tottenham-bound, with reports widely indicating that Spurs were on the verge of agreeing a €30m (£25.7m) deal with Club Brugge, which would see the youngster being loaned back to the Belgian side until the end of the season (The Athletic).

Brentford then seemingly snatched him from under the Lilywhites’ noses, with the player allegedly favouring a switch to the Bees since they offered him guarantees of regular game-time (Football.London).

However, in the first days of the window, there was another major twist as the 18-year-old’s proposed move to the Gtech Community Stadium collapsed due to issues that were discovered during his medical (Ben Jacobs).

Nusa has made a final decision on his future

Football Insider have said that after the aforementioned transfers collapsed, Nusa has made up his mind that his spell at Brugge will come to an end next summer.

The report says that the teenager has decided to leave Belgium and move to the Premier League at the end of the current season.

However, the outlet does not shed light on whether either Spurs or Brentford are expected to reignite their interest in the Norway international when the transfer window reopens.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Nusa failed his medical at Brentford might create major doubts in the minds of Tottenham and other suitors. It remains to be seen how many Premier League sides will want to pay a sizable fee for the teenager at the end of the season.
