The Daily Mail have revealed that Antonio Conte will have to decide which members of the Tottenham squad to let go in January in order to raise transfer funds.
Since Conte’s appointment was confirmed by Spurs, several reports have stated that the Italian is going to be handed a sizeable war chest by Tottenham in January.
However, other outlets, including The Telegraph, have contradicted this claim, suggesting instead that while the new Spurs boss will be handed some money to spend, it is not likely to be a huge kitty.
The Daily Mail have now also backed that up, claiming that ‘limited funds’ will be made available to the Italian in January.
The report adds that Conte would thus have to sell some players in the Tottenham squad in order to raise the required funds for his transfer targets.
It is explained that the 52-year-old will spend the next two months assessing his squad closely before deciding who to let go when the transfer window reopens.

If Conte does decide to adopt a 3-5-2, it is difficult to see what role the likes of Bergwijn, Lucas or Gil would play. In addition, this might be the last chance saloon for Ndombele and Dele at Spurs and I would not be surprised if Spurs decide to cash in on one of the two in January.
