Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho, has won trophies wherever he has been in his senior managerial career including at Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Man United.
However, more often than not, the Special One has been given money to spend in order to stamp his authority on the squad in question.
Tottenham have not been famed for backing their managers in the transfer market in recent years, with Mauricio Pochettino famously going a whole season without a single new player.
In January, Mourinho saw Gedson Fernandes come in on loan, Giovani Lo Celso join on a permanent deal, and Steven Bergwijn sign from PSV.
However, the Portuguese manager apparently has big plans for the Spurs back line in the summer, as he looks to rebuild an ageing defence.
The Express say that Mourinho and Spurs are interested in four men:
- Nathan Ake from Bournemouth – Around £40m
- Ruben Dias from Benfica – buyout clause £80m
- Max Aarons from Norwich City – Planning a £15m move
- Youcef Atal from Nice – Around £25m
Spurs Web Opinion:
I would love to see some of these names come in. However, I think Spurs only need two of these players. Ake or Dias and Atal or Aarons. The rest of the money can be spent on a new left-back and a new striker.
