Report reveals new development at Lille that may affect Luis Campos’ future amidst Spurs links

It looks as though Tottenham Hotspur may not be able to bring Luis Campos to the club as the Lille director of football appears set to remain after winning a power struggle, according to The Daily Record.

The 55-year-old was previously said to be Tottenham’s radar, with a reunion with Mourinho being mooted as a possibility (L’Equipe via 90min).

It was even reported last week that Campos had not been at Lille since the end of the summer transfer window.

The Daily Record have now explained why that was the case, as they reveal that the 56-year-old was in the middle of a power struggle over control of transfer affairs with Lille club director-general, Marc Ingla.

Lille president, Gerard Lopez is said to have accepted Ingla’s resignation, which could be a sign that Campos is set to stay.

With Campos seemingly winning his boardroom battle at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, Tottenham’s hopes of landing him may have ended for the time being.
