Report reveals number of positive cases in latest round of Premier League COVID tests

According to Sky Sports, five positive COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the latest round of Premier League testing.

Players and staff at all Premier League clubs have been tested multiple times every week over the past few months in an effort to ensure that the competition goes ahead without any glitches.

There have been no major hiccups so far, with no clubs recording more than a few positive cases at any one time.

There were some concerns last month after the round of tests held from 21 September to 27 September saw 10 new positive cases, the highest in a single round of testing until that point. This was followed by nine positive tests last week (28 September-4 October).

However, Sky Sports has now confirmed that out of the 1,128 players and club staff tested between October 5 and October 11, only five have returned positive.

The players and staff members who have tested positive will now be required to self-isolate for ten days.
