Report reveals Nuno spent time at Hotspur Way studying Pochettino

Football.London have revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo, who is now the favourite to be appointed as Tottenham’s next head coach, had previously spent time studying at Hotspur Way.

Nuno parted company with Wolves last season after a disappointing 13th place finish in the Premier League, with the Midlands club not being helped by losing their most potent goal-threat in Raul Jimenez for the majority of the campaign.

However, his difficult final campaign at Molineux should not take away from the impressive job Nuno did during his time at the club, leading them to promotion and back-to-back 7th place Premier League finishes.

While the 47-year-old is reportedly likely to become the next Spurs boss, some sources have indicated that nothing has been finalised and that other candidates are still being considered.

If the former Wolves boss is to get the job, he may not be the most popular of appointment among some Spurs fans, with quite a few expressing their reservations on social media.

However, even if Nuno may not deliver the ‘free-flowing, attacking and entertaining’ football that Daniel Levy promised, he does seem to have been fascinated by Pochettino’s methods.

Football.London reveal that after leaving Valencia in 2015, Nuno spent time at Tottenham’s training ground studying the way that Pochettino works.

Spurs fans will be hoping that the Argentine’s front-footed, pressing approach is something that resonated with Nuno, even though one might not think that based on Wolves’ displays, particularly in the second half of last season.

Spurs Web Opinion

I did not want Nuno at Spurs and would have certainly preferred someone like Potter but I am willing to give him a chance. He did brilliantly during his first three years at Wolves and he just might prove to be a right fit for Spurs at this time.

While he might not deliver the free-flowing, pressing football that many crave, he will get us organised at the back and ensure that we are aggressive and direct in possession.
