BILD have now offered a positive update in the race for Julian Nagelsmann for Spurs, claiming that RB Leipzig do not want to strengthen a direct rival in Bayern Munich.
With Hansi Flick leaving the German giants at the end of the season, the search for a new manager has begun but Leipzig apparently will not let them sign Nagelsmann.
However, the same report claims that Spurs do actually have a chance of signing the 33-year-old, claiming that Leipzig would likely be open to talks with the North London club.
Although, it is added that Spurs would need to pay a certain amount of money to land Nagelsmann and, of course, everything would depend on the future of Jose Mourinho.
Report have indicated that Mourinho may not be in charge come next season but Sport 1 reported that Spurs would have to pay between £13m and £17.3m to land Nagelsmann. The report also added that Bayern Munich would be his first choice over Tottenham.
Spurs Web Opinion:
Spurs only land Nagelsmann if they move this season, which means paying off Mourinho and taking a hit. While this would significantly dent the club’s transfer budget, it would at least send a message to the players and fans that Tottenham are looking to be progressive, attacking and positive again.
