Report reveals potential boost to Spurs as Inter Milan identify Skriniar replacement

Calcio Mercato have reported that Inter Milan have already identified a replacement for Milan Skriniar in case the Slovakian joins Tottenham this summer.

It has been reported this week that Spurs are now actively pursuing the central defender, with the club’s chief scout Steve Hitchen being spotted in Milan (Sky Sports).

The report claims that Inter now have their eye on Nikola Milenkovic, a 22-year-old Serbian centre-back who currently plays for Fiorentina in Serie A.

However, Calcio Mercato are very insistent that a deal for Skriniar to move to North London is far from imminent and Spurs still have much work to do.

Inter Milan are said to be holding out for big money if a deal is to be done, although there is a growing feeling in Italy that such a transfer could happen.

Tottenham waved goodbye to long-term star Jan Vertonghen this summer, but Mourinho still has Alderweireld, Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Tanganga, Carter-Vickers, and Foyth at his disposal in the centre of defence.
