Report reveals potential price tag for Tottenham-linked Memphis Depay

Barcelona could allow Memphis Depay to leave for around £17 million this summer amid reported transfer interest from Tottenham, according to SPORT.

The 28-year-old joined the Blaugrana as a free agent from Lyon last summer but could already depart the Camp Nou as he enters the final year of his contract (Transfermarkt).

Xavi’s side have been touted to be chasing a deal to sign Robert Lewandowski in recent weeks, who has made it known to Bayern Munich that he intends on moving on this summer (Marca).

And with the Poland international firmly on Barcelona’s radar, the club may be forced into making a sacrifice regarding Depay’s place in Catalonia.

SPORT claim Depay’s future is dependent on the pursuit of Lewandowski, and Barcelona may consider letting him leave to fund other moves ahead of next season.

The report adds a valuation of around £17 million (€20m) will likely be placed upon the Dutchman, which the club is content with considering he arrived on a free transfer.

It comes after Tottenham were named at the top of a list of potential suitors for Depay by Mundo Deportivo, ahead of Italian sides AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli.

After a fast start to the season under Ronald Koeman, Depay ended his campaign with 13 goals in 38 outings in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

It seems like a very reasonable price for Depay and he would definitely bolster the attacking depth at Tottenham. He won’t be a guaranteed starter, though, so that would have to factor into whether he wants to join Spurs.
