Report reveals price tag for Lautaro Martinez – Spurs and Arsenal interested

The Times have claimed that Arsenal could step up their pursuit of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who is also wanted by Tottenham.

Previous reports from Italy claimed Antonio Conte is keen on reuniting with Martinez at Spurs this summer (Inter Live), with Inter alleged to be open to cashing in on the Argentine (TuttoSport).

This has now been backed up by The Times, who claim that Inter have signalled their intention to sell the forward for £60m- £70m this summer in order to raise funds for their transfer targets.

It is alleged that Arsenal have now renewed their interest in Martinez, bolstered by their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

The report claims Mikel Arteta wants to sign two new strikers this summer, with the Inter star being one of the names on his wishlist.

It is explained, however, that Martinez would only join a club who are in the Champions League and so the Gunners would have to beat their North London rivals to fourth place to have a shot at signing the 24-year-old.

The Times add that Tottenham also retain an interest in Martínez but Antonio Conte’s men have ‘other priorities’ ahead of the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spending £60m-plus on a striker would not make much sense for Spurs, given that we are in more immediate need of reinforcements at left centre-back, right wing-back and midfield. Arsenal need a top-class forward much more desperately than we do. So, I can see the Gunners pushing hard to land Martinez.
