Report reveals price tag for Stefan de Vrij who Conte allegedly wants at Spurs

Rumoured Tottenham target Stefan de Vrij has been told by Inter Milan that he can leave for £15m this summer, Football Insider have revealed.

De Vrij was a vital part of Antonio Conte’s title-winning Inter side last season and the experienced defender has continued being a mainstay in the Nerrazuri backline this campaign.

However, the 30-year-old’s future is up in the air ahead of the summer, with his current contract at the San Siro having just 12 months left to run (Transfermarkt).

It was previously reported that Conte is keen on reuniting with De Vrij at Spurs (Inter Live).

This has now been backed up by Football Insider, who state that the Tottenham head coach tried to lure the centre-back to North London in January.

The report reveals that the Lilywhites face competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United for De Vrij’s services.

It is explained that while Inter previously valued the Netherlands international at £40m, they are now prepared to let him leave for just £15m this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

De Vrij might not improve our starting eleven but we are going to need cover for Eric Dier in the central sweeper role, particularly if Joe Rodon pushes for a move.

Conte is going to need more options to compete domestically and in Europe next season, and £15m is very good value for a player of the Inter star’s experience and quality.
