Report reveals Raphinha’s stance on Tottenham and Arsenal interest

Leeds winger Raphinha will not rush to join either of Tottenham or Arsenal this summer as he continues to hold out for a move to Barcelona, according to the Mirror.

The North London pair have been named as potential suitors for Raphinha (The Athletic), who emerged as a key player as the Whites fended off relegation from the Premier League last season.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently outlined that Chelsea are also in contact with the Brazil international, but added that Barcelona lead proceedings having struck an agreement on personal terms.

But while links of a move away from Leeds continue to surface for Raphinha, a switch across the Premier League and to the capital in particular may not be of immediate interest to him.

The Mirror have claimed he would not jump at the chance to join Spurs or Arsenal at present – despite both clubs being able to meet Leeds’ £60 million valuation – with Barcelona still his main priority.

However, it is added that the Blaugrana have stalled in their attempts to lure him to the Camp Nou and have since cooled their interest after offering just half of the asking price in recent weeks.

Raphinha joined Leeds in 2020 from French side Rennes in a deal worth around £17 million (BBC Sport) and has taken up a talismanic role in Yorkshire.

He has directly contributed to 38 goals in 66 appearances since the move, while he scored 11 times last season to keep Leeds in England’s top-flight (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

It is no surprise that Raphinha is continuing to attract attention this summer and Leeds look like they will have plenty of offers coming their way.

Barcelona are still seen as a dream club to play for by a lot of players despite their struggles in recent seasons so that will make it difficult for a number of interested parties as displayed.
