Report reveals release clause of Tottenham target Everton Soares

Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Tottenham Hotspur were keen on Gremio attacker, Everton Soares, after the club’s head scout, Steve Hitchin, was left impressed.

However, HITC say that Soares only signed a new contract with his current club earlier this month, with some news outlets now reporting the value of the inserted release clause.

Globo Esporte claim that Gremio put a £69m release clause in the new deal, which would be a club-record signing for Spurs.

However, with Harry Kane, Heung Min Son, and Lucas Moura already at the club, as well as the defensive frailties, it seems unlikely that such money would be spent on a forward.

Everton racked up 13 goals and six assists for Gremio last year in just 33 games. This followed on from 16 goals and three assists in the 2017/18 campaign (Transfer Markt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Not proven in a big European league and not what Tottenham need at the moment, especially at that price. I would rather see big money spent on a right-back and a central defender.
