Report reveals safety protocols fans may have to follow upon return to stadium

The Telegraph have revealed that face masks and temperature checks will not be mandatory for football fans on their return to stadia this week and instead will be at the discretion of the respective club.

Fans will be allowed to attend matches in reduced capacity dependent on the respective tier they are located in from next month for the first time since March.

With London being placed in Tier 2 by the Government, 2,000 Spurs fans will be allowed to attend home matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the North London derby on Sunday set to be the first match that will see fans back (Football.London).

The Telegraph have revealed that the Government will allow individual clubs to mandate their own safety protocols and will not make masks or temperature checks mandatory.

However, it is said that all clubs will work heavily on the side of caution and request that supporters follow several safety measures while travelling to the stadia as well as during matches.

It is said that supporters could be expected to wear masks on approach to the stadium and during entry and seating, before being permitted to remove their face covering once they are sat in their socially-distanced seats.
