Report reveals some of the issues Spurs and Espirito Santo are facing during talks

The Sun have revealed some of the details of the issues which Tottenham Hotspur and Nuno Espirito Santo are experiencing during their talks.

The 47-year-old is one of the leading candidates to become Tottenham’s new head coach with the North Londoners still to appoint a replacement for Jose Mourinho, who left over nine weeks ago.

The report claims that a source has said ‘there are still a number of issues’ that need to be resolved.

The former Wolves boss is said to want to have a significant input in transfer decisions, with Daniel Levy recently having appointed former Juventus man Fabio Paratici to lead all transfer-related matters.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy also has concerns over the Portuguese’s reluctance to play younger players and over his cautious style of play.

Levy promised supporters that he would select a head coach whose values would reflect the traditions of the club by playing an entertaining, free-flowing style.

If Espirito Santo is already holding out to have a major say on transfers, it already rings alarm bells of how his relationship with Fabio Paratici could work in the long term.

He certainly isn’t the top choice among Spurs fans; Ajax’s Erik ten Hag is a much better fit of what Levy outlined to fans last month.
